Title : Legal Reform in Indonesia
Location : Jakata, Indonesia
Date : 11 January 2006 to Jan 11 2006
In collaboration with the Coordinator of the National Coalition against CSEC in Indonesia, ECPAT International (EI) developed a proposal and budget for a legal reform project in Indonesia based on the framework developed during a planning meeting that took place in Jakarta from May 29 to June 1st. This proposal involves several members of the National Coalition and includes a number of legal reform activities such as awareness raising and networking among the Coalition and other institutions, lobbying for amendments to Indonesian criminal law and training for law enforcement.
Final preparations for the Legal Reform Project meeting took place in November, and EI travelled to Jakarta. The two-day meeting with eight Coalition Members was very successful and the main output was a clear, well defined final project proposal along with a weekly action plan detailing project activities from December 2006 to August 2007. The project budget was also finalised for two out of the three project components.
Title : ECPAT Guide on reporting to the Optional Protocol on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography
Location : Worldwide
Date : 10 January 2006 to ongoing
ECPAT International (EI) developed a draft of the ECPAT Guide on reporting to the Optional Protocol on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography following a request from Ukraine, as the group in that country was working to develop an Alternative Report. EI worked with the Regional Officer for Europe and the CIS to provide feedback to guide the Ukrainian group through this process. EI also provided several inputs to the document and developed a child and youth participation component to the Guide. The final publication is expected to be completed by December 2006.
